BoO

/!\ This show is no longer proposed as a touring production

BoO is an aerial work speaking of rythms, of flow and above all the relationships between humans takes place within an astounding setting built out of 368 bamboo poles.
The majestic structure takes over and transforms our environment.
Built up gradually, gently, like a giant mikado, bamboo by bamboo, it reaches out and both dominates and is integratder into it’s surroundings ; reflected in our facades, growing out of walls of vegetation, standing out against a croncret backdrop…
Designed for outdoors, to boldly stand out in public spaces and allow for a multitude of viewpoints from which we can discern a meeting of acrobatic aristocrats and their quirky eccentricities
The airborne bodies morph, twist, and the flight changes shape.

From fallen swinging trapeze to decadent Corean, aerial discipline loses its traditional codes to make way for more trivial emotions.
With an absurd taste for danger, manipulated by a sprawl of music, throughout this wilful voyage of almost an hour, the artists empty themselves of their overflowing emotions, spitting out their euphoria, their difference, laughter, fear, rage…and more fear.

The strangling straitjacket of social relationships, mocked and derided, becomes finally caught up in the disarming humanities of these disarming humans.

What the press say..

Boo… around the show

The company’s structure arrival on D-6 allows for various opportunities for activities invilving the public. The fact the the structure is assembled by hand over several days presents a veritable source of attraction to those who live in or aroud the playing area. Hera are a few proposals, some of which require no particular preparations and no need of extra budget ; others will need to discussed, planned and remunerated.

Actions included in the contract
Construction of the bamboo bar :
You shall pre-designate a team of about a dozen people (adults and adolescents over 13) who shall  come and help build the Bamboo Bar : a small bamboo structure built up on the same lines and with the same techniques as the main set and which will be used as the bar before and:or after the shows.
This workshop takes place on the afternoon of the first get-in day and lasts approximately 3 hours.

Dress rehearsal :
The day before the premier of the show there is a dress rehearsal in the same conditions as that of the show. (same schedule and performance). This gives you a possibility to invite staff and volunteers who won’t be able to see the shows the following days.

Sunset aperitif at the foot of the structure :
You provide drinks and snacks and we welcome 30 people at the end of certain get-in days to come and chill out with us, to exchange views and stories.
This may take place on the evening of the 3rd day, around 7 p.m.
Or as wel : if the site and the fit-up conditions allow for it : we open the bamboo bar (supplies taken care of by us) to the public for 1 and a half hours (7p.m. – 8.30) at the end of the days on certain get-in days.

A shared picnic under the structure :
A group of no more than 20 people, organised in advance, come and share a picnic with members of the company, the day before the premier, between 1 p.m. and 2.30, under the bamboo sturcture. They bring food and drink with them

Activities possibly giving rise to additional costs (depending on the number of interventions and the number of company members involved).

Visit of the structure, meetings with the company and public rehearsals :
We can welcom groups, above all schools, those in employment integration, disabled people…the vists last 45 minutes ; we also propose a moment of discussion with the artists, and to double up with a public rehearsal.

Activities giving rise to additional costs above that of the purchase price/or to an increase of the time we spend in your space which would us to add some relance/rehearsal days :

VIP visits of the structure :
2 people are invited on a VIP tour of the structure, accompanied by two members of the company. They may even attempt to climb it…
